Kelvin Grove Primary School - seeking experienced education leader(s) to join Governing Body

Kelvin Grove aims to ensure that all children are given the opportunity to achieve their full potential, both academically and socially. We serve a diverse and vibrant community, and work to enable all to develop a love of learning.

We are seeking one or two people to join our governing body. We are looking for those who can contribute to the oversight and management of the school by bringing experience of the needs of our local community and ideally personal experience of leadership in an organisation, education or representing people.

The governing body is has responsibility for overseeing the management of the school, including working with the leadership team to set strategy, and for holding the school to account to ensure that we support children’s learning and development as effectively as possible.

As one of the largest primary schools in Lewisham, and with a nursery, children’s centre and specialist unit for children with autism, we have the opportunity to make an enormous impact on the educational start of hundreds of children. With an experienced governing body, new head teacher, a strong staff team and a strong ‘good’ in our last Ofsted, we have a lot of positive elements to build upon.

We are now seeking to co-opt a new member of the governing body, who can particularly support the oversight of children’s learning and the curriculum. We are ideally looking for someone who has been school leader or has worked providing advice or support to schools at a senior level.

If you consider that you may be able to contribute in this way, please contact Ben Jupp, Chair of Governors
